A Lost Generation Comes Forth
HUNTINGTON, Indiana, August 2, 2017 - Proclaiming
the strength and beauty of Christ and His Church to an age group consisting of young adults that are intent on forging their own path in their quest to find happiness and fulfillment is no small task. The statistics show that an alarming number of millennials are leaving their Catholic Faith in search of other ways to find pleasure and meaning. But amid the growing crowd of 'nones' -- the number of the population who do not identify with a religion -- are emerging innovative, courageous, authentic, humorous and loving women and men not afraid to answer God's call to live their lives with joy, determination and conviction. Radiant and Valiant magazines, produced specifically for these brave young women and men, are now being published by Our Sunday Visitor and launching in September.
high-end, glossy publications bring together articles written by nationally known musicians, bloggers, authors, speakers and filmmakers to create an entire experience catering to the whole person. Topics ranging from health to eternity to fashion to adventure, all centered on the strength and beauty of Christ and His Church. The content shows readers that God is not only found in Churches on Sunday and is not solely the God of their parents and grandparents. “God is alive, the Holy Spirit is vibrantly moving, and Jesus is calling all of us,” stated Radiant and Valiant founder, Rose Rea. “These men and women have answered wholeheartedly and are not afraid to go forth against the culture of moral relativism. ‘The truth shall set you free’ and these youth prove that freedom guided by Christ has never looked better. They are leading the way in a reawakening of the Catholic Faith by living
out the gospel daily in each of their own lives.”
In developing content for the publications, Rea focuses on action and aspiration. She stated, “Actions speak infinitely louder than words and people are drawn to imitating someone they admire or aspire to be like, especially when that person is dominating the sports scene or creating incredible music or modestly dressing fashionably. Showing the youth today someone they feel drawn to and can relate to changes the game. They are not being taught only rules and stipulations, they are viewing the whole picture, seeing Christ's body and His commandments lived out by peers in an attractive and relatable way. Positive and Holy peer pressure!”
forces with Our Sunday Visitor is a dream come true. I have been passionately fighting for the souls of our precious youth for years by publishing these magazines, but did not have the means to reach the youth on a wide-spread scale. Our Sunday Visitor brings their wealth of Catholic depth and knowledge along with their broad range of customers and together, we can reach parishes and subscribers nationwide with this message of hope, truth and joy. All praise to God for leading us in this greatly needed mission," continued Rea.
Joe Wikert, president of Our Sunday Visitor publishing stated, “Rose has done an outstanding job with Radiant and Valiant, and we are grateful for her responding to God’s call to share the Gospel with men and women in this age group. We share her enthusiasm and drive to help bring people to Christ through his Church.”
Radiant and Valiant Magazine are launching with Our Sunday Visitor this September and are available as annual subscriptions to consumers as well as to Dioceses and Parishes. Radiant is published quarterly and Valiant is published semi-annually. Visit radiant.osv.com or valiant.osv.com to learn more.
